We Offer Customers A Complete Test Program That Analyzes A Transformer's Oil
Since 1993, PowerCom has been providing high voltage services to the Chicago business community. Since we understand all high voltage related equipment, including transformers, we have expanded our transformer services to a new level. As part of a complete preventive maintenance program, periodic oil analysis will monitor the condition of power transformers and detect problems before they reach serious proportions.
PowerCom will diagnose contamination, oxidation and increased fluid temperatures by performing different physical tests on each sample obtained. When the previously mentioned conditions exist in the oil, the fluid will deteriorate and lose its full potential to insulate and cool the transformer.

ON SITE OIL SAMPLING
Collecting and shipping samples is easy. Our customers have the option to either ship samples to us or to have PowerCom’s Engineers collect samples from their facility.
If samples are taken by your personnel we will supply the necessary equipment to properly extract and ship the sample. Upon receiving the samples, the results are sent to you via email within 48 hours, and if requested, hard copies can also be sent to you. If immediate results are needed we can have them phoned in or emailed the same day.
INSULATING OIL FILTRATION & REPLACEMENT
PowerCom uses the best filters and filtration system on the market. We are able to filter transformer oil to remove carbon, water and contaminants suspended in the oil. The filtering treatment of oil increases its insulating properties and prolongs the life of your transformer or tap changer. Our filtration system is able to remove moisture and damaging particles down to a single micron (1µm) in size. We are also able to fully drain and replace your transformer's oil if it is needed.
